Resolute Purpose is a social good advisory consultancy based in the North of England. We are dedicated to helping organisations create lasting impact through investment in cause led initiatives and programmes.

Our mission is to connect the growth of philanthropy and social investment with emerging priorities of the UK regions. The future of social good rests with the ability of sectors, and the leaders within it, to be courageous enough to take the risk.

But Resolute Purpose is more than just a consultancy. We are building a platform for insight, action and shared learning. Through The Purpose Brief , our regular newsletter and blog, we bring together the latest thinking on social impact, responsible business and the power of philanthropy to drive change.

About the Founder

Resolute Purpose was founded by James Johnston, a trusted fundraising and engagement leader with experience across higher education and local government who has worked with a series of non-profit charities to scale their fundraising.

James has led the growth of thriving alumni and fundraising programmes at some of the UK's top universities, he's worked globally to connect funders with opportunities that have advanced universities. Through his 25+ year career, he's worked with inspirational senior leaders across the world to deliver purpose-driven collaborations and funding growth. He's also led major change projects around equality and diversity in higher education.

Resolute Purpose is his next step: creating a home for pragmatic, values-based insight in the social good space and offering fundraising and stakeholder consultancy that breaks down silos.

Our Place

Place really matters: the identity, potential, and partnerships unique to every region are central to how we deliver social good together.

Resolute Purpose is proudly based in (and around) the City of York. Working hybrid and often to be found at a hot desk in Patch, York's new co-working space for startups and creatives based at the Bonding Warehouse.

Whist our base is Yorkshire, 'int North of England', we are happy to pop up anywhere you need us.
